d. Email or FAX a letter of introduction with the your name to the employer, if you would like to interview.

e. Give you the name/telephone of the person to call at the employer to make an appointment for an interview.

At this point, you, the student, will do the following:

f. Call the employer to set up an appointment for an interview.

g. Attend your interview, being sure to bring along your resume.

h. If offered a position by the employer and you accept, you must within seven (7) days enroll in both CIS299 (1 credit) and CIS299wk (8 credits), for a total of 9 credits.
You may enroll in CIS299 on either the East Campus or the West Campus.

Notes on CIS 299 credits:

A student may only take CIS299/299wk two times for a maximum of 18 credits or one year in an internship job.

CIS299wk credits are calculated as 1 credit for each 75 hours worked at the place of employment in the Intern Program. At an average of 20-30 hours per week, each semester covers a six-month period of employment and requires a total of 600 worked hours, which equals 8 credits. The student then enrolls in the second semester of CIS299wk and must complete another 600 hours over the next six months for an additional 8 credits and to complete the one-year period of employment. The total for CIS299wk--the actual work employment for one year (two semesters)--is 16 credits. The total for CIS299--the lecture portion of the course--over the one-year (two-semester) period is 2 credits. This amounts to a total of 18 credits during the one-year (two-semester) internship period.

If you do not understand this credit requirement, stop now and E-Mail us .

If you do understand all the terms, agree to contract with this syllabus, and meet all the prerequisites, then you may send an Internship Application.
