Co-requisite(s): Concurrent enrollment in 299 Co-op Work.
Principles of job success. Preparation of job-related objectives,individual progress and advancement on the job, labor relations, role of management, and evaluation of student work experience. Emphasis on attitudeadjustment. May be taken two times for a maximum of two credit hours.
299 Co-op Work /1-8 cr. hrs./5-40 periods (5-40 lab)

A supervised cooperative work program for students in an occupationrelated area. Teacher-coordinators work with students and their supervisors.Variable credit is available by special arrangement. May be taken two timesfor a maximum of sixteen credit hours."

Prerequisite 1) The Internship Program is a Pima CommunityCollege Computer Science COOP COURSE - CIS299 COOP
2) The COURSE has PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS as follows;
Before you can enroll, you must:
1) be a declared CIS Major at Pima Community College.
2) be a US Citizen or have a legal Visa to work in the US (theseare not college student aid jobs)
3) Complete the Internship Application for Employment on line
4) Be employed with one of the Pima College Intern Partners *
* How do you get employed - After you complete the InternshipApplication for Employment your Instructor will:NOTE: A student may only take CSC299/299wk two times for a maximum of eighteencredits or one year in an Internship Job.1) Review your application for completeness and email you ifadditional information is needed.
2) Match your information responses with Employer Information responses
3) Notify you that a position matches, explain the job descriptionand ask if you want to interview for the job.
4) If the student would like to Interview, a letter of Introductionwith the students name is Faxed to the employer.
5) After the FAX is sent you are given the Name/Telephone of the personto call at the employer to make an appointment for Interview.
6) You then attend your interview with your resume.
7) If offered a position by the employer and you accept, you must withinseven (7) days enroll in both CIS299 and CIS299wk (total of 9 credits)
CIS299wk credits are calculated as 1 credit for each 75 hours workedat the employer in the Intern Program..... At an average of 20-30 hoursper week each semester covers a six month period of employment and requiresa total of 600 worked hours which equals 8 credits. The student then enrollsin the second semester of CIS299wk and must complete another 600 hoursover the next six months for an additional 8 credits and a period of oneyear of employment. Total for CIS299wk the actual work employment for oneyear, two semesters is 16 credits. The total for CIS299 the lecture portionof the course for the one year two semester is 2 credits. This is a totalof 18 credits during the one year Internship two semester period.

Incomplete "I" Grade or Withdrawal "Y" Grade
I do not issue "I" or "Y" grades for this course. Any student appearingon my final roster and not completing the course requirement sufficientfor a grade of "P" will receive a grade of "F"
Attitude, Attendance and Work habits on the Job
If you find that you are having a problem on your job, it is very importantthat you call me as soon as possible, even if you feel you can solve it....It is a good idea if you at least make me aware of any difficulty. Thiscould be with your work, supervisor or external problems that could affectyour employment. If your employer reports any problem with your attitude,attendance and/or work habits, that have been discussed with you by youremployer and you have failed to resolve these problems to your employer'ssatisfaction or you are terminated by your employer for cause, you willbe given a failing grade in this course. So before anything gets any momentum...call me first.... Remember, your instructor is also your advisor.....
